MongoDB IT Tickets Lab

Technical lab created to practise MongoDB through a simple IT incident management scenario, working directly with documents, queries and common operations from Mongosh.

Overview

Hands-on MongoDB lab for managing IT incidents through CRUD operations, queries, aggregations and indexes in a reproducible local Podman environment.

Stack: MongoDB 8, Mongosh, Podman, JavaScript

What it does

The goal is to strengthen practical MongoDB skills through a small reproducible case instead of an isolated command demo. The tickets collection represents systems, network and server incidents with fields such as priority, status, category, assigned technician and tags.

How it is built

The lab runs MongoDB 8 in a Podman container and is organised through reproducible JavaScript scripts. It includes initial data loading, queries by priority and tags, status updates, document insertion and deletion, aggregations by status and category, and a compound index.

What it validates or automates

The scripts make it possible to recreate the collection and repeat the main operations without depending on the previous state of the local database. The repository separates data loading, queries, updates, aggregations and indexes for easier execution and review.
